Haunted Halfsy, presented by Olmsted Medical Center
Welcome to Rochester’s newest, FREAKY FAST half marathon! Starting at RCTC, running through tree lined neighborhoods, the zumbro and bear creek trails, with a BIG finish back at RCTC! We expect a big turnout…. you won’t want to miss this one!
This event will be a USATF certified half marathon, open to all ages and abilities.
Indoor facilities inside the RCTC fieldhouse will be open before and after the race.
Energetic halloween themed water stops will be hosted every 2 miles of the course, supporting local-nonprofits and school teams.
Also! After mile 4, themed cheer zones will be in between each water stop to bring the hype and keep you all moving forward.

SCHEELS Mile markers will line the course, and our “rest-in-pace” pace team, presented by Mythical Mile Coaching, will keep you on track for your goals!

Time limit: 3 1/2 hours (time limit is semi-flexible depending on road closure requirements, please let us know if you are concerned about the timeline. We will try our best to accommodate you)
NOTE: volunteers and cheer zones are NOT going to be scaring or surprising runners! They will however bring a TON of fun by cheering with some hilarious costumes, music and dances to keep you pumped!

Take on the half marathon as a team! Each runner runs an approximate 10K race. Meet in the middle of the course at the exchange zone and tag in your partner. Your partner brings it to the finish! Meet at the finish line and finish together for an unbeatable post-race fest!
EXCHANGE ZONE INFO: Located about a 10 minute drive from RCTC, there will be ample parking available. Each team will get two bibs, one for each person. Both runners of the team will have the exact same bib (a duplicate of the same number for each person). Each bib will have a chip time on the back of it. This will be used to read the times of each person when they cross the various timing mats throughout the course. This means you only have to wear your bibs on the front, there is NO exchanging chip straps for timing.

BEST PRACTICE FOR TEAMS: One team member starts the race, who will run the first leg of the race. The second team member will drive over to the exchange zone area. This will be very easy to get to with map pins, signage, and volunteers to help (full map info coming soon!)
Have one bag ready and take it with you to the exchange zone. This bag will be exchanged with the first leg runner. As your team member approaches, you can shed your layers, hand them the bag, get in that Halloween high-five, and get moving! From there, the first leg runner will take the car back to RCTC. From there, they can meet you at the finish line. YES, you can jump in and cross the finish line together!
Recommend having the tracking app open on your phone to help estimate the timelines that you will see your team member come through.
Get ready for a crazy costume 5K! Break out all the swag, all the orange, all the outfits…. You’ll need ‘em! This wild race will loop around the RCTC facilities and forests, cut through neighborhoods past the College Parkway fields, and right into a BIG finish back at RCTC! Expect the ghouls to be out….. maybe even a few trick-or-treaters!
This run includes ALL the swag and a note-worthy finisher medal.

Getting kids excited about moving and staying healthy is a top priority to us! Break out the costumes and let’s get our little monsters moving at this event! Kiddos will run a fun route, surrounded by volunteers, and get a BIG festive Halloween finish.
The race is FREE and includes a finisher medal. $5 little monsters hat purchase option.
